WHAT IS
KMUN?
ABOUT US
So what is it?
In the past decade, KMUN has evolved into an inter-school conference across Bengaluru and has been in the past accredited to United Nations Information Centres Bhutan and India. Our commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders is exemplified through our diverse range of topics, encompassing political, economic, social, and environmental spheres.
Kumarans MUN provides a platform for students to think critically, collaborate effectively, and propose viable solutions to pressing global
challenges.
This year marks our 13th edition, which means we are ready to make it bigger and more spectacular than ever.
Letter from the
Secretary General
Greetings Delegates,
I am pleased to invite you all to the 13th edition of Kumaran Model United Nations. Over the years KMUN has grown rapidly, developing into a highly prestigious and widely acclaimed conference in Bangalore.
KMUN is not just any ordinary conference, it stands for much more. It has grown into a secure space where students from various schools participate over 3 days to not just represent their portfolios but to listen, to learn and to lead. This year, with an excellent Secretariat and a capable Executive Board, we hope to build on this legacy. We are committed to making KMUN 2025 an engaging forum for deliberation, negotiation and collaboration.
We meet at a time when the world is more unpredictable than ever. Alliances are shifting, diplomacy is faltering, and tariffs are being used as tools of pressure rather than cooperation. From regional disputes to global rivalries, the idea of international collaboration is under serious strain. In moments like this, it is increasingly important to create spaces where dialogue is still possible – and still valued.
That is what KMUN is for.
This conference is not about winning, rather, it is about learning to engage with perspectives that differ from yours. It is about learning when to speak, and more importantly when to listen. Over the next three days, I urge you all to question what you think you know and build something – even in disagreement. After all, at its core, diplomacy is all about thinking critically and engaging respectfully.
I hope you walk into this conference not just as delegates but as individuals ready to contribute, reflect, and grow. Speak with courage, argue with clarity, and most importantly – keep an open mind. Whether this is your first MUN or your tenth, I believe KMUN 2025 has something valuable to offer you.
We are genuinely excited to have you here. Let’s make it count.
Sincerely,
Arjun Sarathi Krishnan
Secretary General
