Situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo
[The UNSC is a Double Delegation Committee]
Brief
The Democratic Republic of Congo has been an area of conflict for as long as history recalls – armed militias, foreign interventions, and exploitations have left the region distraught.
As one of the most powerful bodies in the world, it lies in the hands of the UNSC to restore peace and stability while respecting international law. The Security Council will explore the role of peacekeeping operations and regional diplomacy in addressing violence and unrest in the DRC and land at the most plausible solutions.
Can common ground be built among global powers, each wrestling with conflicting stakes? This is high-stakes diplomacy at its finest. The world watches, and what the Security Council does next will be penned in history, indelibly etched in the memory of the people.

Discussing measures to secure the future of civil aviation in light of emerging regulatory pressures and environmental impacts.
Brief
“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards.” -Leonardo Da Vinci
Skies once filled with ambition now darken under emissions, regulations, and a race against time. The Star Alliance is a Civil Aviation Committee where delegates represent global airlines and key aviation stakeholders, navigating the strategic crossroads of eco-accountability, technological innovation and international negotiation.
This committee aims at securing the future of civil aviation amidst regulatory pressures and a climate crisis that’s going to change a trillion-dollar industry. Take on the challenge of decarbonising one of the most carbon-intensive industries. Form powerful alliances and orchestrate silent trade wars as you navigate “green” policy.
Welcome to The Star Alliance Committee. The future of civil aviation is yours to chart.

Reviewing the Implementation and Expansion of the Sixth Schedule
Brief
The Sixth Schedule, introduced as an integrationist measure for tribal communities in Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura, provides for the setting up of Autonomous District Councils that have broad legislative, administrative and judicial capacities.
Originally intended to promote, preserve and protect the customs and rituals of tribals, the Autonomous District Councils face the growing challenges posed by underfunding and clashes with the State Legislature. Furthermore, rampant corruption eating up crucial funding has come to light, exposing the cracks in a 75 year-old provision. Elsewhere, there is a burgeoning demand for the expansion of the Sixth Schedule to Ladakh.
Members of the AIPPM must navigate with exceptional exactitude through constitutional law, legislative complexity and community sentiment to arrive at a solution amicable to all.

Discussing land rights, ownership and its impact on indigenous people.
Brief
“We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children."
But what happens when the Earth is stolen again and again from the hands that have protected it for generations?
The theft of Indigenous land is not just a relic of colonial pasts, it is a living crisis. From the Amazon to the Arctic, governments and corporations are displacing communities, erasing cultures, and reshaping ecosystems under the banner of “development.” In the name of profit, pipelines run through sacred sites. Forests are razed. Waters poisoned. And with every acre lost, a piece of the world’s heritage vanishes.
In this committee, you won’t just confront the legal frameworks and power structures that allows for the persistence of this injustice—you’ll question what ownership truly means. You’ll navigate the clash between Indigenous rights and national interests, and ask: can ancestral knowledge survive within modern governance? And more urgently, how do we break the silence before the last sacred ground falls?
The land remembers but the question is Will you?
Join the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, KMUN’S flagship junior committee and lend your voice to one of the most urgent—and overlooked—battles for justice in our world today.
*This is a junior committee and only grades 8 to 10 will be allowed to participate*

Agenda
Addressing cross-border crime and the drug trade with a focus on Southeast Asia’s Golden Triangle region.
Brief
The Golden Triangle remains a scar on the map—lush, green, and deadly. Despite decades of international crackdowns and fleeting ceasefires, the region continues to churn out narcotics at an industrial scale, fueling global addiction and corruption. What began as a remote corner of Southeast Asia has become the beating heart of a billion-dollar empire built on methamphetamine, heroin, and human suffering. In Myanmar, warlords, militias, and shadowy political figures have all fed off the profits, while ordinary villagers are left with poisoned fields, shattered families and no way out.
As the world watches the rise and fall of political regimes, the drug trade endures—unmoved by ideology, untouched by reform. The Golden Triangle is no longer just a place; it is a system, a machine, a warning. Until the roots of conflict, poverty, and impunity are torn from the soil, the opium blooms will keep returning—season after season, life after life.

Strengthening election integrity with special emphasis on the capitol riots (Freeze date: July 11, 2022)
Brief
The foundations of American democracy are cracking. Eighteen months after the Capitol riot, the nation remains raw. Investigations continue, alliances shift, and a once-unthinkable question looms: Can we still trust our elections?
Today, the U.S. Senate begins one of the most consequential hearings in modern history—an autopsy of a near-democratic collapse. Senators will confront explosive testimony, allegations of foreign interference, and chaos around mail-in ballots, while reckoning with the weaponisation of misinformation.
Behind closed doors, political lines harden. Some demand tighter restrictions for security; others fight for access to preserve civil rights. Trust is scarce. Consensus, even rarer.
This isn’t policy as usual. It’s a battle for electoral legitimacy—a clash over who decides the truth, who counts the vote, and who governs.
In the world’s most powerful democracy, the vote was once sacred. Until now..

Able Archer '83: Replaying the war that nearly was.
Brief
1983, An evolving strive for power that puts the East and West on the precipice. Millions of fates are intertwined as tensions of conflict reach its summit or perhaps even the end. Across the East, sentiments run high while whispers of war simmer beneath the surface. In the shadows, gathers an iron willed conclave forged in resolve and the cold arithmetic of power.
As trust wears thin and allies are tested, the Warsaw Pact, bound not by trust, but by necessity, runs on only one language known as power. It possesses eyes hardened by doctrine, which scan the horizon not for peace, but for an advantage. It stands for unity, not chaos. Order, not corruption. It demands discipline, yes, but through discipline comes strength. Through strength, security.
The West wraps itself in the colours of liberty, but behind the stars and stripes is a world ruled by puppeteers in suits and governments enslaved to profit. They call it “freedom,” but it’s a freedom bought with lies, decadence, and the illusion of choice.
In this juncture where any misstep, any wrong maneuver could cast a threat of nuclear confrontation, rises this assembly not of mere diplomats but architects of consequence sworn to bide by their ideologies. The power is unfathomable and the balance of nations tilts with your words- will your legacy be a bridge or a battlefield The storm is already here, and you are it's engineers.

Able Archer '83: Replaying the war that nearly was.
Brief
1983: A world divided stands on the precipice of annihilation. East and West are locked in a dangerous standoff, where each military exercise, each coded message, and each silence carries the weight of nuclear consequence.
Tension builds and ebbs all across Europe. Global markets tremble and long-standing alliances strain under pressure. A single misstep could light the spark to light the fire of war that could burn the entire planet. In the East, an authoritarian superpower expands its reach, not only though diplomacy but also through domination. Against this Red Terror, NATO strands strong in the west as the final ray of democracy and freedom, its members united in its defence against the face of this unrelenting force.
At the center of it all lies Able Archer—a NATO training operation whose realism might blur the line between simulation and provocation. What begins as a drill risks becoming the spark that sets the world ablaze.
This committee is your chance to rewrite the events of a moment when the Cold War nearly turned hot. Will you maintain peace—or plunge the world into chaos?
The stage is set. The stakes are global. The clock is ticking. History didn’t end here. But it almost did.

The Ides of March: The Death of Julius Caesar
Brief
“Veni, vidi, vici” — Julius Caesar.
The Ides of March, 44BCE: As Caesar strode into the Senate, the conspirators closed in, armed with steel - former allies turned executioners. His blood stained the stones of the Republic as he bled out by the foot of Pompey's statue.
Meanwhile, separatists in Gaul and Syria threaten to tear apart what remains of the Roman Republic. Sextus Pompey wreaks havoc in the Mediterranean, swearing to uphold his father's legacy.
In Rome, rival factions led by Marc Antony and Octavian clash over the right to rule in the aftermath of Caesar’s death. Far beyond the Senate’s reach, rumours spread of an illegitimate son raised by witches.
Backed by populists, Silvanus Julius and his faction, Nova Fortuna, gain traction. His origins, like his name, remain a mystery.
Mystics whisper of a Doomsday prophecy—The Mediterranean turns to blood as ancient forces reduce Rome to ashes.
The first sign has already come to pass. Rome no longer seeks a ruler. It demands a reckoning.

Tipping Point - 11/22/1963
Brief
"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." ~John F. Kennedy
The year is 1963. Tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union are rising again, but this time the stage is global. The superpowers are locked in a deadly chess game, each pawn a sovereign state, each move carrying global consequence. Chaos brews in Vietnam, where the collapse of Ngo Dinh Diem’s regime has left a dangerous power vacuum at the heart of South Vietnam. American policy is thrown into question and the rest of South Asia sits on the brink of war. In Cuba, old wounds threaten to reopen. Intelligence agencies are at odds, trust is broken, and conspiracy whispers louder with every passing hour.
This committee isn’t just about reacting to crises. It’s about navigating a world that could go up in flames at any moment. The decisions you make here won’t just rewrite history. They’ll decide if there is a future at all.
Welcome to this year's Secretary General's Ad - Hoc : A World on Fire.
